Finding My Innocence.

Just walk by, nodding when you look at me,
See in locked in the cage,
Like I belong there.
Ragged clothes and scratched walls.
Find the reasons my eyes are missing,
They're there but you never see.
Find my innocence somewhere its missing,
And watch me plead to you,
Running my eyes on you like knifes,
Did you put me here?
Come closer, and brush my face,
Watch me unravel, watch me flap my wings,
Watch my grimace when you rub through my scars.
Inside my soul, inside this light of me,
That I hide from you.
Too scared to lose my sanity,
I hide every tear that sheds.
And in the darkness when the wolfs, they cry.
When the owls stare right through your souls.
I weep and I scream.
To reach out to their dreams.
When they sleep peacefully at night,
I'm stuck in my nightmares.
I'm stuck in this darkness.
Finding my innocence.
